Frankincense Oil Resin also known as Olibanum & Lubaan is a high quality, perfume grade, essential oil distillation of fine Boswellia Sacra solid resin. This super thick oil is Steam Distilled using a method that produces a very viscous end result. It has a sweet, woody scent with warm balsamic, aroma and has a heritage/old note. Historically used for incense, skin care, stomach ailments and cosmetics.

Common super cheap oils and resin that are sold as frankincense are actually derived from benzoin resin which is a totally different plant (Genus Styrax). This is not true Frankincense and is usually with 1/10th the price of good Frankincense resin. Knowing the price of the cheapest resin in the market we find it hard to see how frankincense can be sold by some sellers for less that $10 per 3ml.

Frankincense is tapped from the scraggly but hardy trees by striping (slashing the bark) and letting the exuded resin bleed out and harden. The hardened streaks of resin are called tears. Several species and varieties of frankincense trees each produce a slightly different type of resin. Differences in soil and climate create even more diversity of the resin, even within the same species.
 
Uses of Frankincense Oil
 
1. Frankincense Oil is effective as an antiseptic. It can be applied directly on wounds to protect it from developing infections such as tetanus and sepsis
2. Frankincense oil is used in the prevention of like bad breath, toothaches, cavities & mouth sores

3. The oil strengthens hair roots, giving protection from premature hair loss, tones and lifts skin to prevent signs of ageing.

4. It is known to remove excess gas from the intestines and provides relief from associated problems like stomach aches, pain in the abdominal region and chest, abnormal amounts of sweating, uneasiness and indigestion

5. The oil can be applied topically to erase or reduce scars, acne, marks caused by boils and chicken pox. It helps fade away stretch marks associated with pregnancy and surgery scars

6. Frankincense oil is known to stimulate the part of the brain that controls emotions thus it helps to treat depression, anxiety and other emotional problems.
