Australian Pine “Fatwood”
Fatwood is wood harvested from the heartwood of pine trees that's been saturated with resin and hardened over time. It's often found in the stumps of dead pine trees.
Turpentine, the resin produced has an amazing fragrance that is immediately noticeable by smelling the wood. The wood also emits a slight fragrance when left is the open but is not suitable for using as an incense due to its highly flammable nature. We also stock steam distilled Turpentine Oil for perfumery uses.
This organic, flammable natural resin allows the fatwood to be used as fire starter. This can be done by using its shavings and a ferro rod to start a fire or use the woods as kindling. Having some in your pack is especially handy when camping in wet weather. Fatwood is 100-percent natural with no chemical or additives.
