What is Boya?

Boya is the second or third distillation of agarwood to capture remaining resin in the wood. This is typically what is used by designer and other perfume makers when making Oud Fragrances. Also, if your “Pure Oud” gets clumpy/frosty in cool temperatures it most likely has Boya in it.

Our Assam Boya Oud is from the second distillation, is very powerful and has a waxy consistency that can be liquified by putting the bottle in warm water and adding it to a blend or waring in directly on skin and is a very cost efficient way of using Oud.

Boya is not “Pure Oud”!!!

Anyone that sells a “Pure Oud Oil” should provide unadulterated oil from the first distillation and should not deceive people by adding boya. If a blend/Attar is made using boya it should be disclosed and marketed as a blend.

Due to the very thick nature of this oil we can only offer the 3ml as the smallest but we are sure this oil will not disappoint.
